This quiet and relaxed village with about 1000 inhabitants exudes the atmosphere of earlier times. Unlike the towns along the coast, the village is not built up and has retained its authentic character. Aigües used to be a busy destination, because of its famous spa at the medicinal water source. The spa town is closed, but the village is still popular for its beautiful surroundings. In the narrow streets of the old town, time seems to have stood still, while the busy coast is only ten kilometres away. 

The focal point of the village is the church square, a 3-minute walk from the Villa. Aigües has several interesting sites such as the former spa, the old tower, the old wash-house, the church square and a number of colorful houses, so it´s no problem to stay near the Villa for a day. There are plenty of shopping facilities for day to day groceries, with a supermarket, a bakery, a butcher, a post office and a pharmacy. For larger purchases, you can drive to towns as El Campello, San Juan and Mutxamiel within ten minutes. Within 20 minutes you are in the center of Alicante. As in all Spanish villages, there are also several restaurants / bars in Aigües. 

To best characterize Aigües: we have 1 police officer from the Policia Local, Antonio. You can see him in the picture below in front of the town hall. Antonio makes it alone here in the village.
